the white start - Swedish style
It's wonderful to see another new year dawn and as we are well on our way to what promises to be an exciting year. checkout the amazing Swedish vintage style that caught my attention, I can't get enough of this style. I've shared the below images to get you all in the mood, like the below bath...adorable. Little inexpensive additions can convert any room into a serene, white oasis.
Milk glass vases, pitchers and bowls are a treasure like this one above, and can be found at any flea market worth its reputation.
That home office above gets two thumbs up, get super creative and spray paint an old metal desk (a major undertaking, I suggest get it professionally done). Those old picture frames, you were probably going to toss out can look new again, with a collection of black and white illustrations or photos.
Loving the shabby chic vibe going on above, such a great mix of vintage and modern. Sofa covers and pillow covers can change your decor in a heartbeat when you are experimenting, but this look is a definite keeper.
So with my budget for decorating being non-existent, I'm grabbing some paint to work some magic. Are you inspired to give your ho-hum home office, bedroom or kitchen some love. Be sure to share what's inspiring you this New Year.

Inspirational Home Offices.
Shed turned Office.
I love the rustic well worn look of small spaces. Anything vintage and with a history can be added to any home office, to create a very personal space. Whether its an antique desk, trunks for storage or old books...sigh, this post is just filling me with ideas already.
I can just smell the dark stained wood of this room. Not to mention that cozy yellow chair, in the corner, you can just lose yourself into...divine.
Now this is what I call an inspired desk.
...another inspired desk. The clothes line effect works just as well as an inspiration board.
Aww, the white effect never grows old.
Oooh and this is a fave of mine.
Cozy chairs to lounge in is a definite must for impromptu meetings and tea of course.
...and AMEN for wallpaper. So that's it for my picks today. So whatever you do, remember an office can be just a table and a chair. I had way more images to post but this post is already too long, so I might do a part two. Cheers my Lovelies.

So many Online Magazines, so little time.
Ok, I think by now everyone is realizing
just how many online mags have cropped up in recent months.
I am beyond distracted with these brilliant magazines. HIGH Gloss being the most recent to premier only yesterday. Needless to say, I spent most of last night pouring over this latest addition to magazines gone digital. Have a look at my line up above. Trust me when I say, you'll will not be disappointed. It seems like an online magazine is a natural progression to having a successful blog. Maybe we'll see more and more of this trend happening as the year progresses.

A Vanity Affair.
How romantic is it to have a place to get ready. I have taken my vanity for granted and today I'm inspired to give it a little makeover. Simple ideas are key, have a close look at these images with lots of lovely cost effective ideas to spruce your vanity. I can't think of a better day to do this, can you? Whether it be just a hanger for your lovely beads, like in image #5 or fresh flowers #1 or just to hang a piece of lingerie #3. I know whatever you do will look fabulous. Details of our Lives. LONNY MAGAZINE Jan\Feb 2011.
Having style worthy of mention, for me lies in the details. How a person designs a room, writes a book, paints a picture. It could be anything really, a paint color or the placement of an object.
Style can been encompassed in a selection of random things, a handbag, a pair of shoes or how we wear our hair.
Style can been encompassed in a selection of random things, a handbag, a pair of shoes or how we wear our hair.
I have found pleasure in the simplest of details. What really matters most, they're our details to do what we wish. This is what makes us unique in every way.
Details are what our lives are made of, whether its our decor or wardrobe. They set us apart from
the crowd and allows us to be as creative as we want to be.
But what about our lives, when was the last time you looked at the details of your own life? Are they pleasing to the eye, are you comfortable and happy with what you see?
I find myself reflecting on such things, not in a depressing way, but as one wanting to make a difference in my life and those around me.
I am grateful for times like this to stop for a moment and ponder how I will change things around.

A British artist and designer whose style cannot be fully explained. Her home is pretty with a mix of whites, acid brights and patterns. I stopped in my tracks when I first glimpsed her home in the pages of Vogue Living Australia. Happy Monday and the Le Chandelier Tea House.
Le Chandelier is a Tea House, Café-
Taking tea is a celebration of tranquility, a time to reflect and to give back to your mind and your body that which a busy lifestyle take away. Freshly baked pastries for breakfast, an eclectic selection of wines, lunchtime specials and of course that huge selection of specialist teas from farms in China, India, Taiwan and Japan are all served in these wonderfully gentile surroundings, underneath a spectacular array of vintage French and Italian chandelier’s that are also available for purchase.
What a lovely and tempting lineup of desserts.
Le Chandelier can be booked for private hire.
I'm so loving this Moroccan room that can also be hired for small private parties.
After the kind of day I've had, this looks like the perfect setting to find myself again.
Anyone out there care to join me???

Ok, few places get my attention like this, but this tea house leaves me speechless.

Beautiful Homes Series: A Provence Farmhouse.
I have been smitten with this farmhouse in the french countryside. Built 1750 and renovated in the 60's, and sleeps on two acres of land. Here is the farmhouse and it's outbuildings. The entrance is framed by two very large pieces of pottery. I hope you love this peek that emag deco had given us.
Old dishes and a fabulous collection of bowls and cups chosen only in shades of red, raspberry and cherry exposed in a pantry.
This galvanized mesh wire shaped like a lampshade decorated with
euclayptus branches is so whimsical. The table in the dining room
adorned with a pink table cloth.
Old objects and antique furniture carefully chosen provide
an atmosphere of "family home".
What a treasure it is to be able to live surround by the things you love such as antiques and flea market finds. I believe this home reflects all this and more. Above: Double sinks, Old glass door provides partitioning of the shower and fabric beads hang on a pegs.
On the side of the farmhouse are beds of flowers,
vegetables, fruits and herbs.
How divine is this, what inspiration this is for me
to start my herb garden again.

The White Start.

Well, we are off to a new year, new dreams, new wishes and of course new decor choices. Right now I'm in my white zone. Last year I loved turquoise and still do. But as I declutter my soul, mind and life in general, I am drawn to the simplicity of white hues. White in all its glory has crept into my heart as I crave an ambiance of tranquility. My bedroom is the place where I have chosen to start my journey, it's where I spend most of my time anyway, so it should look like the most comfortable during sleep and while roaming around in it. For me, the girl of color, this is a switch. So wish me luck with the dog and the kids and yes my adoring husband on this paranoid journey to keep whites white and gleaming.

Once again I'm posting about my beloved color turquoise. I just love the way you can easily make big statements with a dash of color or morel. Let the inspiration continue, as turquoise is still the color of the year, whether it's shabby chic, rustic country, minimalistic or modern, etc. Every decor and trend watching blog worth their weight has absolutely voted turquoise as the color of this year. So whether it's been spring or summer, fall or winter, all we see is this lovely colour making its way into our hearts and homes.

Turquoise, 2010 Color of the Year.
Chintz, Yellow and Turquoise.
In addition, turquoise and other ocean-inspired blues reflect
consumers appreciation of the environment and nature.
In general, a high-voltage color such as turquoise is best confined to smaller areas, such as a single wall.
But if you're not brave enough to splash the color of the year on your walls,
at least use accessories to update your decor.
Place a turquoise lamp, picture frames, towels or a painted chair for a pop of color.
The result will be magical.
